How We Started 

 
Our original plans were formulated back in 2019, when Rob lived in the Copper Quarter, Swansea and Suzy in Long Ashton, North Somerset. The importance of home life was reflected in our choice of company name. Much of our time was spent apart, both working hard in our respective careers. 
 
Copper Ashton Properties was created to provide income for the future and a better work-life balance. The company invests in freehold buildings, which have been converted into smaller apartments. We have subsequently made our home in Long Ashton.  
 
Our Ethical Approach 
With five young adult children between us, we don't want to compete with first time buyers for the limited supply of affordable properties that will allow them to begin their journeys as property owners.  
As an alternative, we have concentrated our efforts into discovering structurally sound larger buildings that have been, or could be, converted into one and two bedroom apartments offering value for money.

Taking advantage of these rules, which allow commercial, retail and light industrial buildings to be converted to residential without the need to full planning permission, enables the company to move quickly and with certainty, in a cost effective manner and to the benefit of all parties.
